While the ambiguous economic predictions over the embattled housing sector continue to mystify the general public, the emerging trends should put the residential market to experience a gradual increase in rental rates. The House of Gucci, better known for its leather goods, has offered a seven-bedroom penthouse on the 50th and 51st floors of the Olympic Tower for $ 60,000 a month.

This recently renovated penthouse offers floor-to-ceiling views of New York Harbor and the Empire State Building along with two private elevators. Among other listings that keep up with the emerging trends is the actress Yunjin Kim’s Honolulu condominium that was listed at $ 575,000, but was sold for $ 621,000.
